I am positive to raw food but I have one concern - how do you get enough complete protein? I would love to try this diet but the protein-thing holds me back!

i love getting this question during this age of the “protein craze.”

ok so all you hear about today is “PROTEIN, PROTEIN, PROTEIN!” really people, you don’t need a RIDICULOUS amount to keep you healthy, let alone keep your body functioning properly.

this is where i get my protein (and if you need more guidance, read Thrive by Brendan Brazier - honestly one of the BEST guides to being an active raw vegan):

ok so where i get my protein:

  • vega protein powder
  • sprouts
  • leafy greens
  • sprouted nuts and seeds (my favorite: hemp, pumpkin, sunflower)

like i said check out Thrive, Brendan breaks EVERYTHING down for you — he even has recipes for energy drinks, recovery drinks, energy gels, and entrees. it’s ridiculous.

i used to be a division I athlete on a full ride sholarship — i wasn’t vegan then and trained 6 days a week. i’m a raw vegan now, train much lighter between 3-5 days a week and am in MUCH better shape and my health has sky rocketed.

BEST. LIFESTYLE. EVARRRRRRR.
